The Combustion Monitoring System (CMS) Cargo
Box by Imes allows the monitoring of pressures on
up to 20 cylinders and targets dual-fuel gas engines
for power plant applications, as well as dual-fuel
diesel-electric propulsion and onboard power generation systems on LNG carriers.
Pressure Monitoring on the Go
A recent development from engine
indicators specialist Imes GmbH is the
portable Combustion Monitoring System (CMS) Cargo Box.
The product, developed in cooperation with Wärtsilä Service Finland, consists of sensors, a measuring device and
cables, all housed in an aluminum chest
with telescope grip, handles and wheels.
With CMS Cargo Box, engines can be
set up during commissioning, at the prescribed intervals or following overhaul or
repair. The device allows the monitoring
of pressures on up to 20 cylinders and targets dual-fuel gas engines for power plant
applications, as well as dual-fuel diesel-electric propulsion and onboard power
generation systems on LNG carriers.
Imes has also been working on
a CMS Cargo Box for two-stroke,
low-speed diesel engines, aiming at
the needs for optimization of
exhaust valve timing on the latest
generations of electronically controlled engines. a
