Tognum Supplies Emergency
Gen-sets
Tognum has won an order to
provide emergency gen-sets for a
Russian nuclear power
plant near the city of
Novovoronezh, Russia,
in early 2012. The gen-
sets, containing MTU 20V
956 TB33 engines, will gener-
ate a total of 36 MW — enough to
power around 18 000 households. a
GE Oil & Gas and
Rockson Engineering
Awarded Contract
GE Oil & Gas, in consortium with
Rockson Engineering, Nigeria, has
been awarded a contract by the
Federal Government of Nigeria for
the installation and commissioning
of a dual-fired 150 to 200 MW
power plant in Kaduna, Nigeria. The
contract will include the design,
manufacture, supply and testing of
eight GE gas turbines in the 15 to 20
MW range.A
MHI Receives GTCC
System Order
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has received an order for a 478 MW natur-
al gas-fired gas turbine combined-cycle (GTCC) power generation system with
heat supply capability as a cogeneration facility. This is the first GTCC power
generation system order placed with MHI by Uzbekistan. A
Italian Hospitals to Install CHP Systems
Four hospitals in four Italian cities recently signed contracts to install GE’s
Jenbacher cogeneration systems to improve their energy efficiency and reduce
their operational costs. Recognizing the advantages of CHP, a total of 34 hospi-
tals in Padova, Varese, Brindisi and other cities in Italy have installed Jenbacher
cogeneration gas engines.A
MAN Diesel Selected for
Thermo Project
MAN Diesel was awarded a contract
for the 48 MW Wilson City thermo
project by Bahamas Electricity Corp.
(BEC). Construction on the power
plant has already started and will
include four 12 MW heavy fuel oil
(HFO) MAN Diesel engines.A
Enerjisa Signs Six-Year
Service Agreement
Enerjisa Power Generation Co., a Turkish energy company, has signed a six-year
service agreement with GE, covering three power plants that produce enough elec-
tricity to meet the requirements of 50 000 customers. The new agreement is an
extension of an earlier contractual service agreement (CSA) signed in 2004.A
Siemens Receives
Overhaul and
Inspection Order
Siemens Energy has received an
order from EnBW Kraftwerke AG to
perform a major inspection and overhaul on four steam turbines at the
Heilbronn CHP plant and the Walheim
power station; both sites are located in
