Licensed technology addresses current needs; anticipates technical
requirements necessary for the future control of CO2
Hamon Research Cottrell (HRC)
based in Somerville, New Jersey, U.S.A.,
has entered into a formal license agreement with J-Power EnTech (JPE),
Tokyo (a wholly owned subsidiary of
J-Power), to market J-Power En Tech’s
ReACT technology in North America.
ReACT (Regenerative Activated Coke
Technology), an emission control technology that uses activated coke, is capable of simultaneously removing multipol-lutants, including sulfur oxides (SOx),
nitrogen oxides (NOx), particulate matter
(PM), mercury (Hg) and dioxins.
ReACT technology is environmental-
ly efficient and has the added advan-
tage of requiring almost no water,
according to the company. The tech-
nology should be of special interest to
utilities burning lower-sulfur Western
fuels, especially at locations where
there are significant water-use issues.
